Rising Numbers of Patients Requiring Dementia Care
As baby boomers age, it’s a challenge to care for the number people with dementia. There are just under five and half million people with dementia in the U.S. This number is growing fast, says Pamela Atwood, a Certified Dementia Practitioner with more than two decades of experience in the field. Atwood, teaches an online course on Dementia Care sponsored by the &Name of Local Partner and city&.
Discussing her online course, Atwood says, “The greatest benefit of taking my course is that we're only talking about dementia—it’s not about psychology, substance abuse, social work or case management. Our entire focus is on dementia and the diseases that cause it.”
Atwood covers not only basic information, but discusses emerging issues like how an environment affects a person with dementia, the new diagnostic guidelines for dementia patients, and pain management.
“You be hard pressed to find someone with Atwood’s experience and teaching expertise,” says, &Name of Local Contact Person & of &Name of Local Provider&.
